Officers in the Port of Seattle Police Department have the opportunity to participate as a member of specialized units. These teams handle situations that are unusual or require specialized training or equipment to support field and investigative operations. Units are comprised of specially selected and trained officers.
Office of Accreditation
The Port of Seattle Police Department has earned a highly-prized national accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc.(CALEA), only the second port police agency in the nation to ever receive the endorsement. Learn more.
Office of Professional Accountability
The mission of the Office of Professional Accountability (OPA) is to maintain the public’s trust, preserve police employees’ rights, and protect the good reputation of the Port of Seattle Police Department. Among other duties, OPA is responsible for overseeing and managing internal affairs investigations involving police employees, and collecting citizen commendations about officer’s outstanding performance.
