Terminal 5

Container operations have ceased at Terminal 5. 

During the proposed multi-year design and permitting phase of Terminal 5 Modernization summarized below, this industrial facility is being used for interim maritime-related uses. The Port has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to consider serious market interest in this facility.

 

The Port is considering infrastructure upgrades to modernize the Terminal 5 facility. The conceptual design includes crane rail strengthening, structural repair to the existing wharf, fender system replacement, berth deepening, slope stabilization, and electrical supply/distribution.

  • 80,000-square-foot (7,432-square-meter) covered transit shed with truck access

  • On-site 48,000-square-foot (4,459-square-meter) facility capable of handling all terminal and equipment repair and maintenance

  • ​Integrated real-time computer software system for vessel, rail and gate operations to improve decision making for every facet of terminal operations
  • New technologies, including automated equipment identification (AEI) and global positioning satellite (GPS), to improve equipment management
  • Efficient road access via truck overpass directly into terminal
