Holiday travel tips to make your Sea-Tac Experience easy

With the holidays upon us and continued growth in our region and airport, Sea-Tac will be very busy during peak travel times. At Sea-Tac Airport, we are taking action to ensure you have a smooth and easy experience, and you can help:

  • Plan ahead! During peak traffic periods (mornings, 6 – 9 a.m.; evenings, 6 – 11 p.m.), plan to leave home at least 30 minutes earlier than usual to get to the airport. Check current roadway traffic around the airport via Google Traffic: https://goo.gl/maps/SuqJHPRXc6J2  or via the King5 Sea-Tac Airport webcam: http://www.king5.com/weather/sea-tac-airport-cam
  • Consider alternatives to driving to the airport. Take public transit, like Link Light Rail, King County Metro Transit or Sound Transit. It's also a great idea to pick up incoming visitors at a transit stop away from the airport.
  • For parking in the Sea-Tac garage, once you enter, follow signage for International Airlines to save time finding a parking space. Look for parking in the Yellow and Green sections on the south end where parking is usually most available in the garage.
  • Parking in the cell phone lot is lot is free and drivers can wait up to 30 minutes to pick up travelers on the Airport drives. Take advantage of the posted QR code to scan for the most recent flight arrival information. Remember, there is no parking or waiting allowed on the airport roadway shoulders.

As always, arrive a minimum of two hours before domestic and three hours for international flights to get through heavy traffic, park, check in, clear security and navigate to your gate. Then, you can relax and enjoy the award-winning dining, retail and service options (such as a massage or manicure) as you wait.
