Education
At the Port of Seattle, trade is at the heart of what we do, and we are committed to trade and transportation education.
One in four jobs depends on international trade in the Pacific Northwest, and at the Port of Seattle trade is at the center of our businesses. The Port’s Sea-Air School Program has educated thousands of students throughout King County about trade and transportation and how trade affects their lives. Unfortunately, this educational program has been suspended because of the economy’s impacts to the port’s limited resources. We regret we are unable to offer the Sea-Air School’s free harbor tours and international trade classes.
The Port is developing new educational resources for teachers and students. Please watch this website for new programs in 2012 and sign up for the Sea-Air School Teachers mailing list to be first in line for the new educational materials.
Argosy Cruises, a partner of the Sea-Air School Program, is offering harbor tours for school groups at special reduced rates. For school tour information, please contact Donna Veenhuizen at (206) 676-3144 or donnav@argosycruises.com.
