The Credential Center is responsible for issuing identification badges and keys for restricted and public areas, and assigning access into restricted areas. We provide this service for approximately 79,000 customers per year. Our customers are comprised of airline employees, tenants, contractors, vendors, consultants, government employees, and Port of Seattle employees.
New and renewal badge appointments: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., and Friday, 6 a.m. - 11 a.m. The office is closed on all Port of Seattle holidays.
The Credential Center is located in the Main Terminal between the B and C Concourses on the Mezzanine level, office number MT 6002.
The process for new ID badge applications typically requires two appointments:
Appointment 1 - New Badge Application
Appointment II - Security and Driver Training (if required)
Category One - Proof of Citizenship
Category Two - Secondary Photo ID
Appointments are required for new and renewal badge applications. U.S. Custom Security Seal applications should be submitted to U.S. Customs at least five days in advance of your badge appointment. U.S. Customs has relocated to room MT6439 on the Mezzanine Level next to the USO.

You can check the status of your pre-badging background check by e-mail at idbadgescheduling@portseattle.org. When checking on the the status of a pre-badging background check, please provide your employee ID number and the last three digits of your social security number. Your employee ID number is on the ID Access Control receipt. Be sure to use the employee ID number, not the badge number, which is also on the receipt.
Once you have passed the required security checks and successfully completed training, you can pick up your badge in the Credential Center. You must show valid identification to pick up your badge.
You can only renew your badge within 60 days of its expiration date.
To renew:
1. Schedule your renewal appointment
2. If applicable, submit U.S. Customs application to Customs at least five business days before your renewal appointment at the Credential Center. U.S. Customs is now located in room MT6439 on the Mezzanine Level next to the USO.
3. Register for the required recurrent training course for your badge type.

Your training appointment must occur before your badge appointment.
4. You must bring the following documents to your renewal appointment:
To report a lost or stolen badge, please e-mail the Credential Center at securitynews@portseattle.org. Please note: There are significant penalty fees for replacement of a lost, stolen or expired badges.
The Credential Center must be notified immediately by an authorized signer when a badge holder's employment has been terminated or when a badge is lost or stolen. Please use the Badge Deactivation notification form for all termination notifications and badge deactivation requests.
Please note: This notification does not change the current procedure requiring the return of all badges to the Credential Center along with a completed ID Badge Multi-Accountability form (#98-723 Rev 10/06) (60 KB PDF).
All badges not returned to the Credential Center within 30 days of a badge holder's employment termination shall have a $250.00 non-returned badge fine assessed.
