Work closely with the APS department Business Technology team, to refine or implement new system approaches and effect business process improvements. Assist in the liaison with outside auditors including resolving accounting and financial reporting issues identified during the audit, and preparing audit schedules for disclosure and filings. Prepare the Ports financial reporting with Port personnel and outside service providers, covering CAFR, Single Audit Reports and Passenger Facilities Charge Reports. Perform ad hoc special projects related to a wide range of technical accounting and financial reporting issues, as required within deadlines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, OTHER WORK CHARACTERISTICS:   Must have solid knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements and the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) framework. PURPOSE:   Perform electrical maintenance, operation, and installation work at Sea-Tac International Airport in support of the Aviation Maintenance Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Includes, but is not limited to: operation, installation, and maintenance of all medium voltage substations; breakers, vaults, cables and terminations, power centers, power and lighting panels, airfield lighting, emergency generation, HVAC motor controls, PLC, watt hour and demand metering, automated monitoring and control systems, fault indicators, capacitors, regulators, and surge suppression devices.

ENVIRONMENT:   This is a 24/7 maintenance operation. Must be willing to work any five day shift, including weekend days. Must be available to work overtime to respond to electrical outages and emergencies as required.

PURPOSE:   To lead and manage all aspects of construction activities that are essential in the Major Works program, with overall responsibility for the coordination of all construction management services that focuses on meeting the expectations of Engineering Services customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Reports to the Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering Services. Supports and participates on the Engineering Management Team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Collect, compile, report, provide analysis and interpretation of information about SeaTac passengers, aircraft operations, ground access vehicles, and cargo. Collect, compile, report, analyze and interpret information related to other airports, such as new aviation technologies, business and planning trends, and pertinent local, state, and federal policy issues affecting airport operations and planning. PURPOSE:   This position is responsible for contracting goods and services required to maintain the Ports facilities and operations in accordance with rules and regulations as required by state law and Port policy and procedures; Provides guidance for procurement and financial reporting to Port Divisions/Departments. Employs proper purchasing practices to provide good stewardship of Port resources and minimize exposure to liability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   This position provides procurement for Capital Projects, which encompasses authorization, negotiation and contracting for the Port. The Buyer develops detailed and complex bid/proposal documents encompassing technical, financial, risk management, legal and procedural issues and requirements; completes evaluations, award and administration of contracts. Researches recurring purchases to develop commodity procurement contracts incorporating legal terms and conditions which requires extensive ongoing contract administration. This position is accountable for the disposition of Port wide surplus, abandoned and seized property within applicable Port policies and procedures including state law; Expert in RCW requirements pertaining to selling, transferring, exchanging, leasing or otherwise disposing of property. Provide information pertaining to United States Coast Guard requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent. Five years experience in purchasing, contract management with accounting experience, or equivalent. A valid Washington State Drivers license is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:   Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), and/or Certified Public Professional Buyer (CPPB). Five years experience in public purchasing; five years experience working in PeopleSoft Financials-Purchasing Module.

ENVIRONMENT:   Will generally work in an office environment, with some exposure to outdoor elements during inspections of inventory/surplus items.

COMMENTS:   Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

PURPOSE:   To provide planning, analysis, and research assistance to the staff of the Seaport Strategic Planning and Policy Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Research cutting edge trends, technologies and methods related to identifying Port, container truck movements throughout the harbor area as well as the region. Ability to understand various internal Port data needs. Research and ascertain best methods for collecting appropriate data. Specific interest areas relate to: air emissions, origin and destination, route patterns and driver satisfaction. Ability to formulate plan of action for data collection and budgeting cost is essential. Research will include collecting, compiling and analyzing information, as well as providing a structured final report and presentation to appropriate Seaport staff about the findings and applicability to Port of Seattle. Provide other research work or miscellaneous planning support and conduct other tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, OTHER WORK CHARACTERISTICS:   Must have strong personal initiative and work independently. Must possess the ability to prioritize, organize, and complete projects under time constraints. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Working knowledge of MS Office.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   The candidate should be a graduate student (minimum of undergrad senior student) currently enrolled in a degree program in Planning, Engineering, Trade, Geography, Public Policy, Marine Affairs or a related field that has not graduated prior to June, 2008. A valid Washington State driver's license, or the ability to obtain one, is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:   Familiarity with international logistics and containerized cargo business.

PURPOSE:   To maintain and enhance the relationship with the federal government while providing guidance to Port policy-makers on key federal issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   The selected individual will partner with Port of Seattle leaders to design and carry out designated federal policies. Will manage contracts and the work of government relations contractors in Washington DC. Will advise the Commissioners, Executives and other leaders on federal matters. Interacts with port customers and other Port partners at local and national levels, trade associations, representatives of entities throughout the nation with interests similar to the Port's, and adversaries at the national level. Will speak regularly with the above listed entities to further Port goals at the national level. Interacts with members and staff of Congressional offices, federal officials and state and local officials at all levels. Provide advice on federal issues to Port senior staff on a regular basis. Respond to requests directed at the Port on Federal issues. Will supervise GR Administrative Staff. Responsible for developing a budget for all government relations federal activities.
