Award For Excellence

Airport Facilities Council of the International Facility Management Association awarded the Aviation Maintenance Department, for the second year in a row, the Award For Excellence. Sea-Tac won in the 30 MAP or greater category. A group of independent evaluators reviewed each airport submission for leadership, innovation and cost effectiveness.

Comprehensive Environmental Management Award

American Association of Port Authorities for the combined ports of Seattle, Tacoma and Port Metro Vancouver, B.C. shared the Comprehensive Environmental Management award for their cooperative "Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy," a regional plan to reduce maritime and port-related diesel and green¬house gas emissions in the Georgia Basin-Puget Sound air shed.

2008 Best in State Gold Award for Complexity

American Council of Engineering Companies of Washington awarded the 2008 Best in State Gold Award for Complexity to HNTB, the primary engineering contractor on the third runway.

2008 Award of Excellence in Concrete Construction in Paving

Washington Aggregates and Concrete Association awarded the 2008 Award of Excellence in Concrete Construction in Paving for the third runway project.

Best Concessions Award for Large Airports

Airport Revenue News awarded the Best Concessions Award for Large Airports to Sea-Tac’s concessions program.

Airports Council International – North America awarded the Hainan Airlines Launch at Sea-Tac Airport with 2nd place in Partnering with Carriers.

2008 Environmental Achievement Award from Airports Council International - North America

ACI- NA Mitigation Category recognized Sea-Tac's Comprehensive Stormwater Management Program addressing stormwater issues for the airport's multi-year expansion project.

Award of Excellence - 2007 Airport Concessions Contest

The Port of Seattle recently won the Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) Richard A. Griesbach Award of Excellence in the 2007 Airport Concessions Contest. Sea-Tac was recognized for its excellent mix of national, regional, and particularly local brands in the areas of food and beverage, retail, and consumer services, has created a dynamic new experience for its passengers. The positioning of the retail and food service outlets throughout the terminal maximizes visibility and passenger movement.

Patriot Award

The Port of Seattle received the Patriot Award from the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) for exceptional dedication by an employer in support of their employee members of the National Guard and Reserve.

Salmon-Safe Certification

Port of Seattle Parks were certified as Salmon-Safe for the conservation of fish habitat & water quality by Salmon-Safe Inc. The certification is one of the first 3 for urban areas in the State of Washington.

5-star EnviroStars

Bell Harbor Marina and Fishermen’s Terminal received 5-star EnviroStars rating awarded by King County Department of Natural Resources & Parks. 5-stars (the highest)are given to businesses for solid waste recycling programs and proactive leadership in promoting responsible practices and boater education.

Environmental Honorable Mention

WorkBoat Magazine recognized Fishermen's Terminal with an Environmental Honorable Mention Award recognizing maritime businesses and government agencies.
