North Bay Master Plan DEIS was issued on April 15, 2005
A framework plan for development at North Bay was crafted by the Port's planning consultant team. An industrial market study and financial analysis for the property have also been prepared. This work helped build and focus on the alternatives for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) prepared in 2005.
The framework plan builds on the maritime industrial activities at Pier 90 and 91 and north of the piers. The framework plan calls for: expansion opportunities for maritime industrial uses as well as research and office uses; preservation and enhancement of the current greenbelt bordering the western edge of the property that would better connect it to the site; and improvement in transportation both on the property and access/egress to and from the site.
