The Port created a Fly Quiet Committee in early 2003. Membership included city staff members from local communities and representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Puget Sound Regional Council, pilots and mechanics. The goal of the Committee was to find innovative ways to further reduce the impacts from aircraft noise. While significant progress had already been made through noise abatement programs, there is always room for improvement.
