Dive Team The Police Dive Team works closely with the Boat Unit in and around Elliot Bay, the Shilshole Bay Marina, Fisherman's Terminal and the Duwamish waterways.
Divers are trained in both basic and advanced open water response and rescue diver certification. They also complete a three-week Working Diver course conducted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Divers use their specialized skills in underwater search and recovery of waterborne crimes; hull and pier sweeps as part of dignitary protection, special events such as the 4th of July, Seafair, and Port of Seattle sponsored maritime events.

In early 2007, the Boat Team received a new vessel Harbor-1, purchased with a federal seaport security grant. The 37-foot, all-aluminum vessel, with its twin 540-horsepower diesel engines and jet drives, patrols the waters of Elliot Bay, the Shilshole Bay marina and the Duwamish waterways.
Harbor-1 carries specialized equipment on board, including night vision and hand-held thermal imagers. In addition, a Video Ray – R.O.V. (Remote Operated Vehicle) can be used to view hulls and piers remotely with its ability to descend 500 feet and the guidance by an operator located on deck.
