Earth Day 2008 “Duwamish Alive!”

Time: Earth Day Festival - 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

The Port is participating in Earth Day 2008 “Duwamish Alive!” on Saturday, April 19. “Duwamish Alive!” is a partnership of citizen groups, government agencies and businesses. The organizers have scheduled work at eight sites for this year’s Earth Day to help restore the health of the Duwamish River. Two of the sites are on Port property: Duwamish Waterway Park and Gateway Park North.

Hundreds of volunteers are needed. Bring your family and friends to work on habitat restoration projects along the Duwamish Waterway.

The eight work sites are:

  • Duwamish Waterway Park in South Park
  • Gateway Park North/8th Ave. S. in Georgetown
  • Hamm Creek in South Seattle
  • Codiga Park in north Tukwila
  • Duwamish Riverbend Hill Park in north Tukwila
  • Pigeon Point in West Seattle
  • Roxhill Park in West Seattle
  • Brandon Street Natural Area in West Seattle
