Steve Queen Joins Port as Budget Manager

Steve Queen, a veteran budget and finance expert, has joined the Port of Seattle as budget manager.

In his new position, Queen will be responsible for coordinating and managing the overall port budget process and performance reporting.

Queen has extensive experience in budgeting and financial planning in a public enterprise environment, having served as a management analyst for the Port of Tacoma where he was responsible for developing the annual operating budget as well as the five-year capital plan. Prior to that, Queen worked as Assistant Capital Program Manager for the Washington State Ferries, as well as for the Governor's office in Kobe, Japan.

"Steve's experience and abilities are a welcome addition to our team as we strive to streamline our processes and enhance budgeting as a key management tool," said Dan Thomas, the Port's Director of Finance and Budget.

The Port of Seattle is a municipal corporation established by the voters of King County in 1911 and currently employs approximately 1,600 professionals in its corporate, marine, and aviation divisions. Its 2000 operating revenues are expected to reach $301 million.
