Port of Seattle Web Site Judged Among Best

The Port of Seattle's Web site has received an Award of Excellence in the American Association of Port Authorities Annual (AAPA) Communications Competition. The award was announced at AAPA's annual convention in Long Beach, Calif., Sept. 29.

A group of 30 judges reviewed 175 entries from 45 ports throughout the Western Hemisphere. A total of 19 Awards of Excellence, 25 Awards of Merit and three Honorable Mentions were presented

The revamped Port Web site was launched in December 2003. It features a new look and feel that conveys the breadth of the Port's business activities and one-click access to the most-used pages.

The Web team's objective was to provide content that is current and relevant and offer clear, efficient and intuitive navigation.

"The goal of the web site is to enhance the public's understanding of the Port's three divisions and their operations," said CEO M. R. Dinsmore. "I think the site accomplishes that goal and we are honored that the AAPA judges agree with that assessment."
