Flap Jacks To Fly at Sea-Tac Airport

-Port of Seattle Fire Department to hold annual pancake breakfast for Burn Foundation-

The Port of Seattle Fire Department will continue its long-standing support of the Northwest Burn Foundation by holding its annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 6.

This is the 20th year that Port firefighters have cooked breakfast- pancakes and all the trimmings- to raise money for the foundation.

"This is a breakfast that's definitely worth the trip," said Port of Seattle Fire Chief Mike Mandella. "It's a great meal at a great price, for a great cause."

The Northwest Burn Foundation provides assistance and support to adults and children with burn injuries. Port firefighters also sponsor an annual Fishing Derby, and several department members volunteer at the Foundation's summer Burn Camp for children with burn injuries.

"As firefighters, we see the devastation that burn injuries create," Mandella said. "The Foundation's work in helping people bounce back from those injuries is incredibly heartwarming."

The pancake breakfast is open to the public, and is held at the Port of Seattle Airport Fire Station, 2400 South 170th Street. (South 170th dead-ends into the fire station parking lot a few blocks west of Highway 99.)

Breakfast starts at 8:15 a.m. and runs until noon. The suggested donation is $5 for adults, and $2.50 for children.
