Help set qualifications for the Port’s next CEO

The Port of Seattle Commission is asking members of the community to comment on the qualifications for the Port’s next Chief Executive Officer. Port CEO Mic Dinsmore will retire in early 2007 and the Commission wants to hear from the public about the kinds of skills and experiences the new CEO should bring to the job.

“We plan to gather input from the community in July and August and hire an executive search firm by the end of summer,” said Port Commission President Patricia Davis. “We’ll interview candidates in the fall with the goal of choosing a new CEO by the end of the year.”

The Commission’s draft of qualifications for the Port’s next CEO can be viewed on the Port’s web site.

Community members can participate in three ways – send an e-mail to the commission, write a letter, or attend one of the four community meetings that have been scheduled. E-mails can be sent to Commission@portseattle.org. Send letters to Commission Office, Port of Seattle, P.O. Box 1209, Seattle, WA 98111. The schedule for the four community meetings is below.
