Seattle Port Commission Selects Search Firm to Recruit New CEO
The Seattle Port Commission has selected the firm of Spencer Stuart, of Miami, to find a successor to CEO Mic Dinsmore.
Dinsmore, the Port's chief executive for more than 15 years, announced he will leave the Port early next year. Dinsmore said he plans to remain on the job until after his successor is chosen and actively participate in the succession.
"Spencer Stuart has an extensive record of success in recruiting top managers for global transportation, logistics, and aviation positions," said Commission President Pat Davis. "They have recruited for clients around the globe, so we are pleased that they will be our partners in this important search."
The firm maintains 50 offices in 25 countries. Locally, the firm has performed extensive work for Alaska Airlines, Starbucks and numerous others.
Port commissioners hope to make their final selection of a new CEO by the end of the year.
Spencer Stuart was selected from among 11 applicant firms. Individuals who are interested in being considered for the CEO position at the Port of Seattle should contact Michael Bell, Spencer Stuart's project manager, at MBell@SpencerStuart.com.
