1. How do I find specific airline locations, such as ticket counters, baggage claim, gates and offices?
Large directories are located near all of the escalators. Or, you can print your own from the maps of the airport available on this site. You may also ask for help from one of our airport Pathfinders (in red jackets and purple shirts) or airport customer service volunteers (in royal blue jackets).
2. Are the rental car company booths located in the main terminal? Are their parking lots located in the airport garage?
Nine rental car companies have information counters in the Baggage Claim area and five have car pick-up and drop-off at the airport on the first floor of the garage across from the Main Terminal. In addition, off-airport rental car companies provide courtesy van service to the airport. A listing of the car rental companies and contact information is available on this site.
3. Why is Central Terminal and its stores and restaurants behind security?
Following the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the consequent changes in airport security (i.e., restricting secured airport areas to ticketed passengers only) project planners had to make a difficult decision whether to place Central Terminal inside or outside security. Because most travelers want to clear security before eating or shopping, it was decided to keep Central Terminal and its 20 eateries and stores behind the security checkpoints.
There are quite a few eateries located outside security.
