1. Can I take wrapped gifts through the security checkpoint? What about food?
It's best to wrap your gifts after you arrive. The TSA recommends that you don't put wrapped packages in either checked or carry-on luggage. If there's a question about what the package contains, your beautifully wrapped gift may have to be opened.
There are restrictions on foods that can be carried through the security checkpoints. The TSA has a great Web page with a list of foods that are best packed in checked luggage, shipped ahead, or left at home.
2.Where is Lost and Found located and how do I contact them about a lost item? What if I lost my item on the airplane?
The Lost and Found office is located on the mezzanine level of the Main Terminal. The best way to report a lost item is to fill out an online Lost Property Report.
If your item was left on an airplane, contact the airline's lost and found.
3. Where can I find information on the ground transportation options from the airport to my destination?
A list of Ground Transportation providers with links to their Web sites is posted on this site. To find transportation options for your destination, just click on the letter that the city name begins with.
4. I'm arriving at Sea-Tac on an international flight and then connecting to a domestic flight. How long will it take me to clear customs?
It typically takes 30 to 60 minutes to clear U.S. Customs, which is located on the South Satellite. Once you've cleared customs, you will recheck your bags and then go through security screening before heading on to your next flight. Airport maps can be found here.
5. Can I meet a friend behind the checkpoints (post-security) if they are traveling and have a layover?
Only ticketed passengers are allowed through the security checkpoints. They are places to meet and eat pre-security. Here's a list of eateries by location.
