2022 SEA Community Planting Event

COVID-19 and travel at SEA Airport More Information

Feb 26, 2022
Feb 26, 2022 ; 10:00am - 1:00pm

Join the SEA Airport’s environmental team at our annual community planting event to restore local urban forests. During the event, participants will plant 140 native trees and 600 wood shrubs on a restoration site located on land originally purchased for SEA’s Noise Mitigation Program. Prior to the event, the Port will prepare the site for planting by removing invasive English ivy and Himalayan blackberry. Once the ivy is removed, planting native trees and shrubs will not only increase tree canopy, but also diversify forest structure and improve habitat quality.

Date: Saturday, February 26, 2022
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Location: Park at the visitor lot for the SCORE Jail (20817 17th Ave S, Des Moines, WA 98198) and follow walking path indicated on map to meeting point.
