Know of a business or nonprofit doing great environmental work at SEA Airport or Port maritime facilities? Nominations are now open for the Sustainable Century Awards through February 17, 2023, which publicly applaud the outstanding environmental accomplishments of Port customers, tenants, non-profits, and business partners of all sizes.
The Sustainable Century Awards, previously known as the Environmental Excellence Awards, publicly applaud the outstanding environmental accomplishments of Port customers, tenants, non-profits, and business partners of all sizes. Awardees serve as role models and demonstrate exceptional accomplishments and leadership in their operations at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Port of Seattle maritime facilities.
Along with a new name last year, we broadened the award categories to highlight Port commitments to equity, diversity, and inclusion. In addition, two new awards will highlight our airline partner's efforts to reduce emissions using ground power and pre-conditioned air systems and fuel-efficient aircraft.
The expanded categories joined established categories of environmental performance, education and outreach, and innovation, with recognition opportunities for small businesses. Any project, process, or activity completed in 2022 demonstrating sustainable excellence may be submitted for recognition in 2023.
Nomination period is open!
The nomination period runs from Jan. 5 – Feb. 17, 2023. Awards are typically announced in April to coincide with Earth Day (April 22).
