Equity Lens:
SCC is focused heavily on pathways for underserved students. It is one of our core missions and always a major topic of discussion from administration.
Our students have much more diversity when compared to the last Spokane census data at large. One of our focuses lately has been recruiting more women into the field. We plan on exploring potential recruitment strategies when things get back to normal again.
Anecdotally I can tell you that a significant number of my students are the first in their families to attend college. It is one of my favorite things to see them graduate and see their pride in what they have accomplished.
