What role does the Diversity in Contracting team play in contracting?

The team is an ombudsman-liaison for businesses at the Port. The Diversity in Contracting team is made up of people who act on and exemplify the Port’s commitment to equity. Some of the tasks and duties performed by team members include outreach, PortGen trainings and other workshops, setting goals on contracts, monitoring for compliance, site audits on DBE projects, and other tasks related to leveling the playing field for small and WMBE businesses.
