The Port remains committed to the environment and sustainability and will be incorporating several features in this work to support these goals:
- Solar panel arrays on larger buildings will generate approximately 70% of the building's power requirements
- Permeable pavement in the parking lot will allow for natural infiltration of stormwater
- In-slab radiant heat pump systems to promote warm dry interiors
- Electric dryers reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions
- Water efficient fixtures and low-flow toilets
- LED fixtures with occupancy sensors
