Waterfront Construction and Getting Around

July 10, 2017

The new Elliott Bay seawall is complete and a pedestrian pathway on the west side of Alaskan Way is open, meaning the west side of the waterfront is now totally accessible on foot!

Come September, Pier 62/63 will start to be rebuilt so that it can be used as an event space again. We will look forward to sharing new waterfront events with you soon!

Across Alaskan Way, Pike Place Market's expansion had its grand opening at the end of June.

In a few years, a new public pathway - Overlook Walk - between the improved Pier 62/63, the Pike Place Market expansion, and the Seattle Aquarium expansion will be built improving the connection between the waterfront and downtown's retail core.
