The Port of Seattle welcomed the Mexican Naval Vessel ARM Benito Juarez (POLA 101) to Terminal 90 this week as the crew made their return voyage home to Manzanillo, Mexico. The stop in Seattle followed joint training exercises with the U.S. and Canada.
Local dignitaries joined Consul Héctor Iván Godoy Priske of the Consulate of Mexico in Seattle in greeting the vessel’s commander, Capt. Jorge Alberto Sánchez Hoz and the ship’s company. The visit provided an opportunity to learn about the ship’s mission and the valuable training exercises that strengthen security and collaboration across North America.
Members of the Port of Seattle’s Latino Unidos employee resource group toured the vessel and engaged directly with the ship’s sailors, further deepening cultural and professional connections.
A commemorative group photo was taken on the bridge of the ship with representatives from local government and the Port.
