Statement from Commission President John Creighton

The Port of Seattle applauds the action of the Seattle City Council today in voting down the Occidental Street Vacation. Duly recognized throughout today’s testimony was the long history of collaboration between the City and the Port. It is this history we wish to build upon as we continue to work together for middle-class jobs, environmental stewardship, and economic development. The Port of Seattle wants to help bring the Sonics back. We are ready to assist the City and other partners in evaluating the feasibility of Key Arena.
