The Port of Seattle announced the recipients of its 2026-27 Tourism Marketing Support Program (TMSP), awarding funding to 35 projects across King County and Washington state. The program received a record number of applications this year, reflecting both the strength of the region’s tourism industry and the growing demand for resources to support local, community-based tourism initiatives.
The selected projects support a diverse range of nonprofit and civic organizations that are focused on driving visitor spending, supporting local jobs, and strengthening communities throughout the region.
The TMSP is a cornerstone of the Port’s tourism development efforts, helping ensure that the economic benefits of tourism are shared broadly and equitably. By supporting under-resourced partners and promoting many lesser-known destinations, the program directs visitors to places where their spending can have the greatest positive impact. The Port plans to issue over $600,000 in marketing support funds over the next two years.
“This year’s grant recipients from the Port of Seattle’s Tourism Marketing Support Program highlight the natural and cultural diversity that make Washington state an exceptional destination for visitors from around the world,” said Commissioner Fred Felleman. “From snowcaps to white caps, music to museums, the program supports efforts across the state to encourage travel while also imparting the importance of respecting the destinations being visited.”
The Port’s investment in tourism development is part of a broader strategy to strengthen economic resilience, support small businesses, and promote sustainable, community-centered travel. Through programs like the TMSP, the Port continues to play a critical role in ensuring that tourism contributes to a vibrant economy and high quality of life for residents.
