Port of Seattle is Ready to Welcome the Global Soccer World in 2026

December 6, 2025

The Port of Seattle issued the following statements after confirmation of teams set to play matches in Seattle during the 2026 FIFA World Cup

“It's exciting to finally know the teams that will be in Seattle next summer,” said Port of Seattle Commission President Toshiko Hasegawa. “We know that the Port of Seattle's gateways, especially SEA Airport, will be the first and last impression that fans have of our region. As soon as they land in Seattle and walk our waterfront, the experience will be clearly something you can only get in Seattle. The Port is also glad to partner with King County in Game Ready Activation Grants, ensuring small businesses are supported and family-friendly events are available to all next summer. I hope the world is ready to see Seattle shine!”

“The Port of Seattle is ready to welcome the world to Seattle next summer,” said Port of Seattle Executive Director Steve Metruck. “Our teams at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are completing key capital projects to welcome fans to the region. The Port is also working closely with the local organizing committee, other governmental partners, and businesses to make the most out of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
