How to Support Your Fav Local Businesses at the Airport Without Traveling

April 7, 2020

It's no surprise that regional businesses are facing substantial economic challenges due to COVID-19. At SEA, two-thirds of airport dining and retail tenants are temporarily closed and some dining options remain open for grab-and-go and orders to-go for passengers on essential travel.

Even during social distancing, you can support your favorite local restaurants and food and beverage producers inside SEA Airport when you are not traveling. Here’s how.

Café Flora
Café Flora, the sister restaurant to Floret at the beginning of the A Gates, is open in Seattle’s Madison Valley neighborhood offering take-out (call 206.325.9100) and delivery only. There is a special menu of your weekday favorites available from 11:30 a.m.  to 7:30 p.m., and on weekends, there is a brunch to-go menu from 10 a.m.  to 2 p.m. along with dinner service from 5 to 8 p.m. If you’re hankering for healthful, nourishing food, Café Flora’s menus are full of creative vegetarian cuisine.

Instead of leaving a tip, Café Flora invites patrons to consider donating a $10 “Family Meal” (or more!) to orders. The restaurant is continuing to support temporarily laid off employees with health insurance premiums and free meals and groceries. Adding “Family Meals” to an order represents a donation to continue this program.

Poke to the Max
A traveler favorite for the taste of aloha in the D Gates at SEA, Sam Choy’s Poke to the Max in Seattle’s Rainer Valley neighborhood is open. If you’re craving poke, Musubi or Kalua pork, visit www.samchoyspoke.com/onlineorder to place an order for pick-up or free delivery. Poke to the Max also added family style meals meant to serve up to five at a reduced price. The location at SEA also remains open for those with essential travel.

Stonehouse Café
The Stonehouse Café located at the beginning of the C Gates pays homage to the original Stonehouse Café in Rainer Beach serving up fresh and local fare. Order online for pick-up or delivery with breakfast all day, sandwiches, salads, and starters and entrees dripping in gourmet Americana like Tillamook Mac & Cheese, Fish and Chips, and Meatball Marinara.
