Spring Community Planting Event

Feb 28, 2026
Date/Time
Feb 28, 2026 ; 10:00am - 12:30pm

You’re invited! Join the Port of Seattle, its partners, and community members as we maintain existing restoration sites, including removing invasives and planting native trees and shrubs to restore our urban forests from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Participants will install 100 plants and use hand tools to remove blackberry, ivy and St. John’s Wort at an existing community stewardship site previously restored by community members. Supplemental planting and invasive species removal will ensure this area grows into a resilient, restored native forest.

The Port will provide snacks, hot drinks, gloves, and tools. Clothes, shoes, and rain gear appropriate for working outdoors are recommended. This event is family friendly and no experience is necessary.
