More Beach Time! SEA Airport Welcomes New International Service to Nassau, Bahamas from Alaska Airlines

First-ever service to Nassau from SEA adds to beaches of Hawaii and Mexico with Alaska
June 27, 2023

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) welcomes Alaska Airlines' new international service to Nassau, Bahamas (NAS), adding another sun and fun winter destination choice for Puget Sound travelers. Seasonal service will begin on December 15 and operate through April 10.

"SEA welcomes another dynamic, sunny winter destination — the first time Nassau has been served with nonstop service from Seattle," said Lance Lyttle, Managing Director, SEA Airport. "Alaska Airlines is providing that opportunity for fun and sun to go with destinations from Mexico to Hawaii — choices Seattle travelers will surely be happy to have!"

“We’re excited to add new international service at our hometown airport with convenient, nonstop service to the Bahamas this winter — our first time serving the Caribbean from Seattle,” said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning for Alaska Airlines. “Whether our guests choose to stay in Nassau, or venture to the outer islands, the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters of the Bahamas await.”

Nassau will be a pre-clearance destination for returning SEA travelers, like Dublin. This means travelers will be cleared through customs in the departing city, and not when arriving at SEA. Other pre-clearance cities arriving to SEA include all Canadian cities except Victoria and Kelowna.

The new flights operate three times a week – Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday outbound.

International Service at SEA

Alaska’s route is the third new international service to be announced in 2023, following WestJet to Edmonton (began in May) and Tahiti Nui service to Paris (began June 13). In 2022, SEA added four brand-new international services: Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, Air Canada to Montreal, Finnair to Helsinki, and Air Tahiti Nui to Tahiti. Overall, 45 international services are currently in operation at SEA, providing nonstop flights to 29 unique international destinations on 25 airlines.
