Contactless Travel Tips at SEA

July 20, 2020

At the beginning of this year, we introduced a new brand for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). This was anchored in our shared community values and a promise to create an elevated travel experience. One inspired by the Pacific Northwest and delivered with a passionate service culture.

And then the rest of 2020 happened. COVID-19 temporarily decimated the travel industry as our “trips” are now between rooms in our homes.

Faced with the “new normal,” SEA Airport is keeping you safe during recovery with FlyHealthy@SEA. And we are still living our brand values like helpful and efficient.

We are practicing physical distancing at SEA. We added almost 3,000 signs and floor decals with reminders to keep six feet (or 2 meters) away from others as much as possible. We even blocked every other lane in the security checkpoint lines to maintain physical distancing side-to-side.

And there’s more we can all do to protect ourselves and each other. Explore this list for best tips for navigating the airport while minimizing interactions with others.

App, App, and Away

SEA App

  • Download the FlySEA App for checkpoint wait times, to track your flight status, or use step-by-step directions with our interactive map, and more
  • Most airlines have mobile apps that allow you to check in up to 24 hours before your flight and download the digital boarding pass to your phone
    • If you’re not packing a smartphone, SEA’s common use check-in kiosks are an option to print your boarding without interacting with a customer service agent
  • Some of our dining and retail tenants like Evergreens, Beecher’s, and Starbucks have apps for mobile ordering
    • While not an app, Africa Lounge on Concourse A offers a contactless menu via a QR code that can be scanned onsite to place your order
    • And later this year SEA will offer contactless ordering with Grab, an airport-wide, mobile ordering service. Grab’s Order at Table and Virtual Kiosk products require no app to install and will enable you to order and pay conveniently and safely using your own device. From virtual menus to order and payment, you can soon manage the entire dining experience with contactless options
