Pier 66 Grand Staircase Maintenance and Repair Project

The Pier 66 Grand Staircase is part of the Bell Street Pier multi-use complex. Opened in 1996, the staircase provides access to the Bell Harbor International Conference Center, Bell Street Parking Garage via the pedestrian skybridge, and to the Pier 66 rooftop plaza.

Project Overview

The Pier 66 staircase project is a maintenance and repair project to update safe access and give the stairs a much needed refresh. It includes the replacement of the existing stair treads, pavers, waterproof membrane, handrails, and guardrails.

Staircase closed for construction October 20, 2025 through May 2026. 

Elevator access is available at the following locations:

  • Street Level below pedestrian skybridge, westside of Alaskan Way
  • Street Level below pedestrian skybridge, eastside of Alaskan Way
  • Lenora Street, south of Marriott Hotel, eastside of Alaskan Way
