International Arrivals Facility is Fully Open

May 12, 2022

Shake off the glaze from the last two years of video calls — broader horizons and open borders beckon.

Remember that feeling of adventure and escape? Collecting passport stamps, experiencing other places, and exploring unknown foods and languages. Us, too.

And this summer offers you two amazing reasons to book that flight and pull your suitcase out from the back of the closet.

Go nonstop

First, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is a gateway to the world with nonstops to Asia, Europe and beyond.  Four new nonstop flights will take you to exciting destinations: Turkish Airlines to Istanbul; Air Canada to Montreal in May; Finnair to Helsinki in June; and Air Tahiti Nui to French Polynesia in October.

Welcome here, welcome home

Second, the new International Arrivals Facility (IAF) is fully open to welcome you home!

The IAF replaces the former 50-year-old customs processing facility and improves your experience with breathtaking views of the Pacific Northwest, more international-capable gates and passenger capacity, and enhanced technologies to expedite baggage and passport check processes.

This epic building greets you and other travelers to our region and tells the story of our region through thoughtful architecture, design, and art. And while the IAF provides a beautiful welcome, your loved ones waiting for you is really the best part of coming home.

We celebrated the grand finale of the phased IAF opening with travelers on May 10, 2022 in Gina Marie Lindsey Arrivals Halls. Located on the southernmost part of the airport, this is the new meet and greet space as passengers exit the IAF into Seattle. You can find the Arrivals Hall on the interactive map in the FlySEA App.

Travelers and awaiting family created cute photo moments in front of life-sized SEA letters and welcome banners for each international destination that flies nonstop to SEA.
