SEA Airport Takes Off on Smart Speakers

In your smart home, you’re probably used to asking your voice assistant about the weather in your travel destination or the traffic on the way to the airport. With the new AskSEA service, you can now ask your Google or Amazon Alexa home devices questions about Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

 Ask and you shall receive!!  Here’s how to activate the AskSEA service:
       Step 1: Say “launch S.E.A. airport" to your home device
       Step 2: Ask your airport-related questions and you will get an answer! 
       Step 3: You’re done. Yes, it's that easy!

Here are the top five questions (and answers) from your fellow passengers since the launch of AskSEA:

1.    How do I get my lost item back?

You can submit a lost item report with the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) Lost and Found Department. 

  • If your item was lost on the aircraft you will need to contact your airline directly 
     
  • If it was lost at the security checkpoint or in the terminal it will be at the SEA Airport Lost and Found, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Baggage Claim Level across from Carousel 13. Follow these step by step instructions for retrieving your lost items or call the Lost and Found team at (206) 787-5312.

2.    What are the current security checkpoint wait times?

You can find current wait times for all the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints on the FlySEA app. Want to spend less time in line? We’ll save your spot in line with SEA Spot Saver!

3.    How can I get wheelchair services at the airport?

SEA Airport provides complimentary wheelchair service to and from the Link Light Rail Station, baggage claim, and the parking garage through Prospect Airport Services. This does not include transportation after security checkpoints.

For wheelchair service from security checkpoints to your gate, please contact your airline.

4.    Is there a kids’ play area?

Yes! There is a Children’s Play Area near the A gates, next door to Qdoba. If you need assistance locating it, you can get there with step-by-step directions using the interactive map. Nursing suites and family restrooms are available for are available for traveling families. 

5.    Which restaurants and shops are open?

Most airport restaurants and shops are open for business.  There are grab-and-go snacks, meals, and beverages at SEA Airport. Sit-down dining and bar service are also available.

What’s new?

AskSEA content has expanded so that we have your questions covered. Recently, answers for SEA Spot Saver and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) services were added.

What’s next?

In the near future, programs that were paused due to COVID-19 will return to SEA Airport! And a few new programs like food delivery to your gate are coming up.

  • SEA Visitor Pass: Spend a few extra moments with your loved ones at their gate even if you are not flying. Or eat, drink, and shop at the airport.
  • Order SEA: Order food on the app and it will be delivered to your gate
  • SEA Music Program: Groove while you wait when local musicians return to the terminal
