Customer Communication for the Win

December 22, 2020

This year we created the globally-accredited and award-winning FlyHealthy@SEA program to protect your healtC and restore your confidence in air travel. A big focus of this work is communication with you, our customers.

As a key source of information for the traveling public regarding COVID-19, we are in constant communication for healthy travel information and actions at SEA. Our aim is to be highly responsive to your concerns and deliver transparent and frequent communication.

And it is working.

In consumer surveys this month, over 85 percent of you are aware of the measures we are taking to ensure the health and safety of travelers while in the airport, plus over 75 percent of you are confident in those measures.

And it is winning awards.

We partnered with The Seattle Times on a branded content project that recently landed a spot on Pressboard’s Top 100 Branded Content Partnerships of 2020

When COVID-19 hit, people had to learn about complex topics that can be tough to quickly understand. Our airport set out to educate the traveling public for how to fly safely this year. With plenty of information to cover, The Seattle Times worked with us to create an easy to digest, interactive infographic to help effectively share the information.

Pressboard receives thousands of submissions. This is exciting honor to earn as points are awarded for utility, originality, production value, partnership fit and performance.

Also this month, SEA was recognized by Airport Council International — North America (ACI-NA) for its Excellence in Airport Marketing, Communications, and Customer Experience Awards.

We secured a spot as finalists in four award categories, including Brand Identity, Newsletters, Promotional Items and Best in Airport Partnerships! Ultimately, we took home two of the top honors for Promotional Items for the Mask Up SEA campaign as well as Best in Airport Partnerships for the Jet Stream Music Fest lead by Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Mask Up SEA

Mask Up SEA educates travelers on our state and airport requirements to wear a face covering. The Mask Up SEA street team of airport employees roam the terminal distributing complimentary care kits and encouraging masking with friendly interactions. Each care kit includes a cloth mask, hand sanitizer packs, SEA sticker, SEA candy, and a How to Stay Healthy While Traveling tip sheet.

The Mask Up SEA Street Team distributed over 11,000 free masks in recent months to travelers without one or needing a fresh mask.

This holiday travel season the Mask Up SEA street team is still at it! Keep an eye out for in the terminal if you forgot your mask or need an extra for the journey ahead.
