Airport Noise Programs

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) offers one of the most comprehensive aircraft noise reduction programs in the nation. The airport's Noise Programs Office works closely with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the airlines and the local communities to monitor existing noise programs and develop new ways of reducing airport and aircraft noise. The office has two primary focuses: sound insulation programs and noise abatement programs.

Please be advised that if you are a user of a third-party app to report aircraft noise, some altitudes reported by the app may be erroneous. Please use PublicVue to identify correct altitudes.

The Port is excited to kick off a new Part 150 Noise Study with the first public meetings being held in early June 2024. You can find more information about those meetings at SEA Part 150 Noise Study.  Please note that the Part 150 Noise Study and the Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) are separate efforts and will each have their own distinct public process and outcomes.

Residents can request information about SEA-related aircraft noise and operations, learn more about noise insulation or report aircraft noise by contacting the Noise Programs Office at (206) 787-5393 or toll-free 1 (800) 826-1147.
