Shipping or picking up a live animal

Traveler alert: Beginning July 14, 2021, there is a temporary suspension for dogs imported from countries that CDC considers high risk for dog rabies. This includes dogs arriving from countries NOT at high risk if the dogs have been in any high-risk country during the previous 6 months.

For specific information concerning the transportation of live animals you must contact your airline. Generally, animals that are shipped unaccompanied will be made available for pickup at the air cargo facility of your chosen air carrier. Pickup or delivery location and timing will vary by airline.

Most shipped animals are picked up by a new pet owner/guardian and may be stressed after a long trip, wait until you're in a safe and enclosed space to comfort your animal by touching/holding it. Please wait to open the kennel door until your animal is home or in a fully enclosed area as they may run away if given a chance.

We strongly encourage you to Contact your airline carrier for specific information.
