SEA Airport Seeks New Dining and Retail for C Concourse Expansion

December 14, 2023

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA Airport) is seeking bids to operate 13 new dining and retail spaces as part of its C Concourse Expansion project, which is estimated to be completed in 2026. The request for proposal (RFP) process, authorized by the Port of Seattle Commission, will begin in Q1 of 2024 and SEA Airport will host multiple classes for interested bidders, including first-time bidders.

The C Concourse Expansion project, which is part of the airport’s Upgrade SEA capital projects program, will transform the area where C and D Concourses meet by adding four floors to the building’s current three floors.

The RFP includes:

  • Seven food and beverage locations within the C Concourse Expansion
  • One pre-security food and beverage location adjacent to the C Concourse Expansion
  • Three retail locations within the C Concourse Expansion
  • Two retail locations surrounding the C Concourse Expansion

“These new dining and retail locations within the C Concourse Expansion are a key component to building a port of the future,” said Port of Seattle Commission President Sam Cho. “They will advance the Port of Seattle’s goal of creating new business opportunities and jobs at SEA. We encourage local and small businesses to apply, as we know travelers love the Pacific Northwest favorites that define the dining and retail experience at the airport.”

“The new dining and retail opportunities in the C Concourse Expansion will help transform SEA into a five-star airport,” said Lance Lyttle, Managing Director, SEA Airport. “As part of the RFP process, we encourage first-time, local, small and minority-owned businesses to bid on these opportunities. This expansion is going to be a gem of the airport, and I know we will have fantastic dining and retail options to give guests more of what they need and love about SEA.”

The SEA Airport dining and retail team is committed to diversity in contracting goals, including Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) businesses as part of this RFP.

Interested bidders will be eligible to attend multiple classes on demystifying the RFP process at SEA. The dining and retail team will host classes, including morning and evening classes, the month prior to the RFP release. Interested parties can sign up for more information through the Concession Inquiry form on the Explore SEA site or via email.

In addition to the new dining and retail spaces, the project adds new premium lounge space, an Interfaith Prayer and Meditation room, a nursing room, and an outdoor viewing area. The atrium area, called the Tree at C, will feature grand seating and a performance area for live music.
