On this very special 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, we are under a heavy dark veil of COVID-19. Now is a good time to reflect deeply on the future of the planet, and what we each can do to protect the Earth, and our quality of life for future generations. What should be the future of the Port of Seattle?  With our unique economic development mission and tools, it must be not in the old ways, but in advancing a resilient and sustainable economy within the ecological limits of the planet. I believe the Port should work aggressively to spur innovative green industries, new technologies, clean fuels, and renewable resources. We can’t wait for industry to change — we must be the change.
